The Kudey's Adoption Adventure

Hi, and thanks so much for clicking on our story! We are the Kudey’s: Andrew, Laura, and Riker.
We live in one continuous adventure, going wherever God takes us. I came from New Jersey to New York to several different houses in Pennsylvania before I met and fell in love with Andrew. Me, the creative pastry chef with dreams of becoming an artist and an author, and him the communications major with a brain for numbers and a mutual desire to start a family that put God first.
We started talking adoption while we were on a date to see “The Blindside.” We desired to rescue an older child in need of a family. We’d continue to come together with this desire each year on New Year’s Day and ask “will this be the year we adopt?” And we’d hear God say no as He’d lead us on various other adventures. We went through MANY job changes. A few house relocations. God gave us a miracle child, Riker Gabriel, whose name means “strong and prosperous leader” and “man of God.” He’s eight years old now, and living up to his name already. Then God led us to move to South Carolina. We absolutely love it here, and have been so blessed to find many connections and a beautiful church family. And, finally, we heard God say “it’s time!” We’re obeying His calling, and are so excited to start our adoption journey!!
We found an AMAZING agency through Nightlight, and are almost done the home study process. We’ll start matching with kids in September, and can’t wait to see where God leads us! We’re looking for a little girl between the ages of 6 – 10. The expenses aren’t cheap, but we serve the God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills. We’ve seen many miracles during our adventurous life, and I know we’re just getting started.
