We are so excited to share with you the news that we are adopting! After several months of praying, learning more about adoption, and seeking counsel, it feels clear to us that God is calling our family to adopt.
There are many factors that have led to our desire to grow our family through adoption. Being parents has been one of our greatest blessings and we feel that we have more love to give another child. We love the way that the adoption of a child reflects the spiritual reality of our adoption by our Heavenly Father, who called us to Himself and made us His children. We feel burdened by the need, particularly of children from disenfranchised communities, for a stable family. In addition, Steph has struggled with chronic health issues since the birth of our oldest daughter, Emma. These issues progressively worsened with the birth of our second daughter, Ainsley. As we consider the possibility of growing our family, we both feel that it is wise that Steph not experience another pregnancy. In light of this, adoption feels like an amazing answer to our desire to grow our family and care for another child!
We officially began our adoption process at the end of August, and recently found out that we have been matched! Our family has been chosen by a wonderful woman who is pregnant with a baby girl, due in June! We would love your prayers for our family, this sweet baby girl, and her mother in these final months of pregnancy, and as we complete the adoption process.
