Andrew & Kayla's Adoption Journey
Kayla and Andrew
Casper, WY
Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to introduce ourselves and tell you about our family and our adoption journey!
My husband Andrew and I live in Casper, Wyoming and have been married for five years. We are both teachers; Andrew teaches elementary P.E. and I teach high school social studies. We enjoy being active, especially in the summers, playing softball, volleyball, and golf. We love camping, fishing, being in the mountains, and walking our black lab, Peyton. We are very close with our family and spend a great deal of time with both sides. Our faith is at the center of both our individual lives and marriage. We attend church regularly and meet with our small group once a week to further our relationship and walk with God through fellowship with other believers.
Our decision to adopt has come over the course of a three-year journey. After being unable to get pregnant the first year of our marriage, I went to my doctor who told me it would be very difficult for me to get pregnant naturally. Additionally, at age four, Andrew was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Though Andrew is healthy today, a side effect of the intensive chemotherapy is the inability to have children. Through the tears and grief of our infertility journey, we felt God calling us toward adoption.
In May of 2021, we adopted our son Noah. He reminds us daily of God's goodness and faithfulness. We feel called to continue to grow our family through adoption and we trust that God will continue to provide like He always has. Adoption has been the greatest blessing of our lives and we are so excited to see where this journey takes us next and to meet our child.
