Dear Birth Mother: We're Shane & Briana and we're privileged that you're taking the time to meet us. We know this must be an incredibly difficult decision for you and we appreciate the love and care you have for your child. We'd love to get a chance to show you the kind of life your child could have with us. We've been married for 15 years & live in the tiny town of Kiowa, CO. We love Jesus, the outdoors, volleyball, coffee, traveling and spending time with our families. We love kids and have been working with kids our entire marriage, plus have a ton of nieces & nephews around, so we're excited to have a child of our own to love! We met at a young adult Bible study at our church and Briana asked Shane if they could start carpooling there and to all kinds of activities with friends since we both lived in the middle of nowhere...and Shane proposed on a sunrise hike 15 months later. We absolutely love being married and get teased about being newlyweds despite being married for 15 years. Small town life is the best and also allows us to be very active in our church together. We run a club called Awana for kids ages 2-18 that has 160 kids and it's the highlight of our week! We enjoy serving together, spending time outdoors, drinking coffee, and adventuring whenever & wherever we can! We absolutely love to travel! Heading to Ireland for our first international trip in 2012 got us hooked! Since then, we've been to Guatemala, Mexico, Romania, France, Israel, Switzerland, Italy and visited 33 of the 50 states together! One of our favorite parts of travel is experiencing new cultures & foods! We're always up for an adventure, even if it's just on a hike we've never done before. Our families are local and we love spending time with them. Each of us come from big families and always assumed we would have a bunch of kids. Infertility made that an impossibility for us and turned us toward adoption. We can't wait to add a child to our family and get the chance to share our amazing lives with them! We will teach your child to never stop learning, that it's okay to fail as long as you get back up again, that laughter really is the best medicine, to love people unconditionally the way that Jesus loves us and that it's always a good time for ice cream. We strongly believe God has led us to adoption and are excited to meet our future child! We can't wait to hold them, raise them and grow with them.
