Matt & Emily (ID#2087805)
Hello!
How brave you must be. You have a very difficult decision in front of you. While we do not pretend to understand how you feel or what you are going through, we wanted to tell you a little bit about us in hopes that you will allow us to go on this journey with you and walk beside you.
Our names are Emily and Matt. We have known each other for sixteen years and have been married almost nine. Emily is a Kindergarten teacher and Matt works in home security. When we are not working, we love to attend social events with friends, sporting events, travel to new places and spend time sitting on our back porch. We also like to nurture our independent interests. Matt loves sports of all kinds, golfing and watching movies. Emily loves to do yoga, try her hand at gardening, baking and try different types of art every chance she gets. However, every day, we make time to spend together and just enjoy each other and our three dogs together.
Riley is Matt’s biological daughter and she is 18 years old. She goes to EKU and has a deep love for music and reading. She is currently studying social work with the hopes of becoming a clinical psychologist. She loves her half siblings and is the absolute favorite of her younger cousins.
Six years ago, we were able to conceive a baby together through IVF. Unfortunately, our daughter, Mirielle’s heart stopped beating when she was just weeks away from her due date. While we will also always be grateful for Riley, we still have a strong desire to raise a baby together. We will never take for granted the gift of a baby with a beating heart.
Family is the most important thing to both of us. Our families are our support, our backbone, and some of our closest friendships. We are both so lucky to come from big families that live close to us. Emily’s parents and brother live just 20 minutes away and Matt has three siblings that live within a couple hours drive. Holidays, birthdays and vacations are always cause for big celebrations and we know that adding a new baby to the family would be one of the biggest celebrations yet.
We have big hearts and a lot of love to give. We feel that we have so much to offer your child. Our home is safe and in a neighborhood filled with children and families. Our jobs are stable and provide financial backing for all the adventures that we love to take. We have the resources to support their education, social and emotional growth. Most importantly, we want to nurture a sense of family by giving all the love we have in our hearts and maintaining a strong relationship with you, if that is what you desire.
If you choose to make an adoption plan, we hope that you will consider allowing us to be a part of it. We want to provide support and love for you and your child.
With love,
Emily and Matt

Happy New Year! We hope that this upcoming year is full of blessings and positivity!
Just a few updates with our family from the end of the 2022 year:
In August, Riley turned 16 and started her Junior year of high school. She has been taking some very difficult classes and studying her driver's manual! Emily started a new school year with 23 new little Kindergarten students. They definitely keep her on her toes!
In September, Matt's weekends definitely revolved around UK football! He spent many weekends tailgating with friends and attending ball games with his seasons passes. One weekend, Matt's family even traveled in from 3 different states to join together for one game and had one amazing tailgate party!
In October, Matt, Emily and Riley took a beach trip with Emily's family to Destin for Fall Break! It was great to rest and reset. We saw some of the most beautiful sunsets. When we got home, we were welcomed by the gorgeous Kentucky foliage and all things fall! Emily's favorite field trip of the year is to the pumpkin patch with her Kindergarteners and this year did not disappoint!
In November, unfortunately, we were all sick for Thanksgiving and definitely missed out on spending time and eating together. It made us even more ready for the Christmas holiday! Emily also was working with her friend for her Etsy shop and loved creatively writing on Christmas ornaments for others to enjoy!
In December, one of Emily and Matt's favorite things to do is participate in a Candlelight Memorial that honors their daughter Mirielle. Emily worked to make memorial ornaments that were personalized for each baby being remembered. Kentucky had a crazy week of weather right before Christmas time! We had negative temperatures and wind chills! We were so lucky though that we still were able to spend time with our families all while staying safe and warm. One of the best memories from this year was when Emily learned to make buckeye candy, which is Matt's favorite, with her Mamaw and Riley!
We are looking forward to January (Matt is turning 40!) and the 2023 year!
