We are excited to announce that our adoption journey that began almost 4 years ago has entered a new chapter! In April we were matched with a precious 2 (almost 3) year old girl from South Africa!

As we await final immigration paperwork from the U.S. and a court date from South Africa, we are eagerly anticipating our trip to South Africa to get our sweet girl, which will Lord-willing take place this fall. Once we receive a court date, we will have a 30 day notice to pack up our things and head to South Africa for 6 weeks. Our adoption will be finalized right away at our court date, but as a family we are required to wait in country until we receive the final paperwork clearing us to travel back to the U.S.

God has generously provided financially for us each step of the way so far. And as we continue to learn to trust Him financially in this crazy world, we know He will continue to be faithful as we prepare for the last of the legal fees, the 6 week required stay in-country, the 5 plane tickets to and from South Africa to Washington, and the time that Adrian will need to be away from work.

Thank you to all of you who have prayed for us, cried with us, encouraged us, fought for us, and pushed us closer to Jesus as we have walked through this process over these past 4 years. We thank God for you!

As we continue our journey, we want it to be made known that our story isn’t really about us. It's about God and His love for us and it’s about His love for you. God called us to begin our adoption journey in August 2017, exactly 1 year before our sweet girl was born. What an incredible reminder that God not only knows us before we were ever formed, but that He has good plans for us and is making a way for us even before we are a thought here on earth! God knows our needs and sees them long before we even realize we have them! We look forward to sharing our whole story in the future with the hope of inspiring others to pursue their God-given dreams. Dreams that are destined to fail without divine intervention.

We have learned that God calls nobody’s like us, gives us His name, and asks us to join in the work of His Kingdom in the name of His unfailing, never stopping, unbreakable love. This has been a journey filled with pain, overwhelming emotion, fatigue, joy, laughter, and celebration in every area of our lives as God has asked us to give up our lives for the sake of His Kingdom - a choice that we have to make daily. God’s faithfulness has been on full display throughout our journey and as we anticipate the future, we know He will continue to be faithful!
