Lara and Sean
Broken Arrow, OK
Our story begins with secondary infertility; something that wasn't even on our radar when we began trying to have a second child. After a year of waiting and lots of tests, it was recommended that we try IUI. We knew medical intervention was a viable option but God has led our hearts to adoption instead. Specifically, embryo adoption.
Many couples, after going through IVF, have frozen embryos left over that they are unable to implant themselves. Instead of allowing them to be destroyed or donating them to research, many couples are choosing the chance of life for their embryos. To give them this chance, they are allowing them to be adopted. We believe that life begins at conception and that each of these embryos is a human life that inherently has worth and deserves this chance that their parents want to give them. Children born through embryo adoption are often known as Snowflakes.
Our journey of adoption begins with a home study. After completion, we will be mutually matched with a placing family. The placing family will be allowed to view our profile and, if they would be comfortable placing with us, we will then be allowed the opportunity of taking on their embryos. Lara will then undergo the medical procedure to have them thawed and implanted and she will carry their pregnancy. We will likely be given more than one embryo since there is a chance one or more of them will not survive the process. However, we are committed to giving the chance of a full life to each one we adopt.
As with any adoption this will be a long, expensive process, and we covet your prayers throughout this process. We also need your financial help, and so do our potential future family members! Please consider joining with us to bring one of these precious embryos the chance to experience the life God has called them to live. Thank you!

Romans 8:23 “And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.” yours willingness of obeying God's calling had been a great encouragement for us. May God bless McKinney through this precious child.

It's hard to believe we are already two months into this process! First, we want to say thank you to everyone who has donated. It has been an enormous help and support as we focused on our home study. We have had a couple of people ask where our Adoption Bridge target goal came from. It represents roughly a third of our total costs for the entire adoption and one frozen embryo transfer (FET).
We have now completed everything that is within our control for the home study including home visits. All we are waiting on is for the state of Oklahoma to complete our child abuse background checks. Once that is done (hopefully soon), we will be moving on to the matching phase where we will be matched with our placing family and our embryos. We ask for prayer not only for us as we will be deciding whether to accept the match that is presented to us, but also for our placing family as they are working through these final stages of finding a home for their embryos.
