The idea of adopting a child internationally has sat at the back of my mind for years.  More recently, God has caused that little glimmer of an idea to slowly and deliberately grow.  Over the past year, we have seriously considered domestic adoption and foster adoption in addition to international adoption.  All of these avenues carry with them both positive and negative aspects. As a family, we have weighed these options and feel led by the Lord to pursue international adoption.

Shawn and I have had a heart for China since praying for the country in a prayer partnership during our years in college.  Together we lived in China for two years early in our marriage. We spoke briefly at the time about adopting a Chinese girl in the future.  God planted a seed in our hearts that has continued to grow, albeit slowly, over the years.  We feel that our time spent in China gave us a glimpse into the fascinating culture and also provided us with a foundation to learn the Mandarin language.

Please pray with us that God will use this experience to spread His gracious love and forgiveness.  Please pray that He will provide the provisions necessary for the adoption to be completed.  Please also pray for the little child who will join our family in the future and pray for all the details involved.  We thank you so very much for joining us in prayer!
