Drabyn Family adopting from Burundi Africa!

Hey all! Sending an update on what’s new with our adoption process to keep you in the loop. The Lord has been so good and our journey towards bringing our son home continues ❤️We officially got notice that our home study has been approved and we can move forward on immigration paperwork and getting our papers for our dossier gathered and ready to send to Burundi in the near future🙏Additionally, with our home study completed, we have begun chipping away at applications for grants to help fund our adoption. There are so many wonderful organizations out there to help in assisting families to pay for their adoptions and lessen the financial burden. Additionally, in February we are doing an adoption fundraiser game and have hopes for a few other fundraisers in the spring and summer! We have had so many friends and family reach out with prayers and kind donations through this page and other avenues and we just want to say Thank you for all the support you have given us thus far and will continue through this process, Lord willing. We will send out another update following basketball season! Much love to you all!!

It’s been a few months since we began, God has provided people and appointments to get further in our process. PAPERWORK has been much of what has been our focus these past few months. Collecting documents about every area of our lives, some fun reminders of where we both came from, our family makeup and places we have lived. BUT, we have almost gotten all of our documents together which is a huge praise because basketball season starts today for Steve!!

Yesterday we had the pleasure of welcoming our social worker into our home for the in-person homestudy appointment. She is so lovely and the kids enjoyed sharing cookies we made, showing her their rooms and asking her just as many questions as she asked us! This is one of the last steps we needed to complete in preparation of our homestudy process. Once we get the document in our hands in completion, we are one step closer to meeting our son🤗Also we can be applications for grants and other ways to help fund the adoption, which many of you have already done and we say THANK YOU!!

Lastly today, we wanted to update you on what child we are praying to bring home. Our agency allows us to choose the gender, so we are praying for a boy in the age range of 0-6, knowing he may be older when we bring him home than when we are matched❤️We ask you continue to pray over our future child, for the health of his physical body, his mental and emotional health as well. Also we ask you continue to pray over our family in preparation for adding a new child and providing both emotionally and financially through the process.
