Why We Are Adopting

After years of dreaming about growing our family, our path to parenthood has been filled with both hope and challenges. We have invested significant emotional, physical, and financial resources into building our family, including more than $15,000 in fertility treatments and over $10,000 pursuing surrogacy options. While these journeys did not lead us to the child we longed for, they strengthened our desire to become loving parents.

Adoption has become a beautiful and meaningful path for us. We believe that every child deserves a safe, nurturing, and loving home where they can grow, thrive, and be celebrated for exactly who they are. We are especially open to adopting a newborn who is African American or biracial, as these children are often underrepresented in adoptive placements and may face longer waits for permanent families.

As a college professor of psychology and a medical engineer who serves hospice patients, our careers are centered on caring for and supporting others. We are excited to bring those same values of compassion, stability, education, and unconditional love into our home as parents.

The costs associated with adoption can be overwhelming, including agency fees, legal expenses, home studies, travel, and post-placement services. Through your support, you are not simply helping us cover adoption expenses—you are helping create a forever family and giving a child a home filled with love, opportunity, laughter, and unwavering support.
