Domestic Adoption

Dear Birthmother,

Where to begin? Even as we prepare this letter, we feel completely humbled and have genuine compassion for you and the journey you are preparing to go through. We want you to know before we even get into anything else that we are praying for you. We are praying for this baby, and we are praying for this journey about to begin. We pray for strength for you. One Bible verse that we regularly visit in times of uncertainty or moments of fear is “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 40:10).

We appreciate and value this opportunity to share with you a little bit about us. Thank you for taking the time to view a glimpse of who we are. We are honored that you would take the time to consider us in raising this little one.

We are Jared and Alyssa, and we live in a small, rural town in Northern Colorado. We both work in education. Alyssa is a fourth-grade teacher, and Jared teaches junior high and high school classes. We both love spending time together by playing games, spending time on the lake, working on the yard and garden, spending time with our family and trying new recipes to cook.

Throughout both of our lives, we have had experiences with adopted family and friends.  These experiences along with our faith have helped guide us to the decision to adopt. In January of 2023, we were blessed by the birth of our daughter, who joined our family through adoption. Through this, we have seen firsthand how unique and special adoption is and we are eager to continue to grow our family through adoption. We want to give a child the opportunity to grow up in a home that is full of love and support. We want this child to know that he/she is loved not only by us, and their birth parents, but also by God, who loves them more than we ever could.

Our families are also praying for you and this little child. We both have complete support from our closest friends and family members. It makes us feel completely blessed, thankful, and humbled that there are so many people in our lives who are praying for us in this journey. These people are here to support us, but they are also praying for you, and this precious little one.

We understand that this might seem a bit of an unusual experience, but we want you to know that we value any level of openness with you, the child's birth parents. We want this child to know that you valued their life enough to bring him/her into this world. We want to be understanding and empathetic to what you might need as the birth mother.

May God grant peace, strength, and reassurance to you during this time as you weigh the opportunities for this little one. Please know we are praying for you as we write this letter and every day hereafter.

Sincerely,

Jared and Alyssa
