Our Family's Story

Our adoption journey began long before we ever filled out a single form. We are Trevor and MaKayla, high school sweethearts from Eastern Kentucky whose relationship has grown through distance, challenges, and the strongest commitment to each other. We made it through years apart while Trevor served overseas in the U.S. Army and while MaKayla completed nursing school — always knowing our paths would lead back home to one another. Through every season of our lives, we have dreamed of becoming parents.

Over the past few years, we learned that starting a biological family might be difficult for us. Instead of discouraging us, it opened our hearts even wider to the idea of adoption. We realized that our dream wasn't just to "have a child," but to love a child, to give them safety, stability, laughter, family traditions, and a home where they always feel wanted. Adoption became not a second choice, but the most meaningful path we could imagine.

We have built our lives intentionally around the future child we hope to welcome — Trevor, who is transitioning from the military to working from home as he finishes his accounting degree, and MaKayla, who is growing in her nursing career and working toward becoming a nurse practitioner. We surround ourselves with supportive family, rescue pets who bring joy into our home, and a peaceful environment that feels ready for little footsteps.

After months of training, preparation, and prayer, we were approved for adoption in the state of Kentucky. Still, we quickly realized we wanted to expand our reach to connect with families across the country.
