The Summer That Changed Everything

Our five weeks with Kidsave's Summer Miracles program started as a leap of faith—and permanently reshaped our family's future

This summer, we welcomed three amazing siblings from Colombia into our home: 13-year-old twin girls and their energetic 5-year-old brother. We wanted to see how they would bond with us, our 8-year-old son, and our two dogs. Within weeks, we established a strong sense of trust and security, love and laughter filled our home, and our connection was undeniable. Our son embraced being a big brother while also gaining two sweet older sisters and our dogs soaked up all the extra love. When those five weeks came to an end, these three children were not ready to leave; they wanted to be part of our family, and our hearts felt the exact same way.

Now, we are on a mission to make it official and bring them home forever.

Why Time Matters:

In international adoption, older children and large sibling groups face the highest risk of being separated or aging out of the system. Our twin girls turn 14 this November, their eligibility for international adoption is closing rapidly. We will not allow time to run out, and we will not let these siblings be separated.

Internationally adopting a sibling group of three carries substantial upfront costs, estimated at approximately $69,000. These expenses include agency and foreign fees, home studies, legal and medical costs, visas and passports, and mandatory travel for an extended four to six week in-country stay. We are contributing our personal savings, applying for adoption grants, and actively looking for a sponsor to match all crowdfunded gifts dollar-for-dollar.
