Dear Birth Parent, 

Thank you very much for giving us the opportunity to introduce ourselves and get to know us! We are Collin and Skylar. We have one son, Grayson, who is the light of our lives. Our dream is to add another child to complete our family and be a sibling for Grayson to grow up with.

We are high school sweethearts that have been together for 16 years and married for 4 years. We love to make each other laugh and our love for sports has always brought us together.  Shortly after getting married, Skylar’s cancer diagnosis changed our plans on how we would grow our family. Although this was an obstacle life threw at us, we have remained committed to our dream of having children. We were blessed to have a surrogate carry our son, Grayson. We could not imagine life without him and are extremely fortunate to be his parents. Now, we are hopeful to complete our family through adoption. 

Skylar is a full time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in a nursing home.  Collin is medical device sales representative specializing in orthopedic surgery. Both of our jobs are very flexible and allow us to tend to Grayson with anything he may need such as doctor’s appointments, sick days, etc. Both sets of Grayson's grandparents live close by and are also very involved in our day to day lives.  They often pick him up from school, get ice cream, go to the park, have sleepovers, etc. We do have 3 beautiful dogs that are Grayson’s best friends.  We enjoy playing with them, taking them on walks, and loving on them as much as possible.  Day to day, Collin and I are both fun loving, easy going, caring, and trustworthy.  We enjoy attending, watching and playing sports including baseball, football, basketball, and golf.  In the rest of our free time, we love being outdoors, going to concerts/listening to music, hanging out with friends and family, and traveling when possible.

Due to my diagnosis, we will never have the chance to carry our child that we want to add to our family. We admire you so much for choosing life and considering the adoption of your child. We want to assure you that we respect you and the decision you are making. The weight of this decision is not lost on us. If you choose us to adopt your child, we promise to respect you and the level of openness and contact that you wish to have with them. Although they are slightly different circumstances, our surrogacy journey taught us the value of maintaining an open relationship. We have remained in constant contact with our surrogate and her family has become an extension of our family.  

Ultimately we realize this is your decision as the birth mom and we respect whatever you decide. We are committed to providing a fulfilling life with a safe and happy home where we will love your child with all of our hearts. We are praying for you to find comfort in whatever decision you make.
