Slay Family Adoption
Danal and Elizabeth
Peachtree Corners, Georgia
We wanted to introduce ourselves to you and share with you how the journey of adoption started for us. We both believe that our savior, Jesus, has already written and planned our story, including our adoption story. He loved us first and continues to love us first, even when we are unlovable and undeserving. We believe He is with us along this path and has placed a desire on our hearts to adopt. Even before marriage, we knew that adoption was going to be a path we pursued in our relationship.
Through lots of prayer and careful consideration, we have decided to pursue adding to our family through adoption first, instead of trying for a biological child. Ultimately, we felt called to adopt as our first option. We wanted to do this to ensure our adopted child feels included and desired regardless of birth order. We want to remove any obstacles that would keep the child from feeling our love.
Danal is an industrial engineer who now does IT strategy for healthcare mergers and acquisitions. He is an avid University of Georgia football fan and loves watching them play on Saturdays in the fall (Elizabeth cheers for the University of Alabama so there is a small rivalry in our house). Danal enjoys playing games, working in the yard, and spending time with friends and family. He has a love for people, and it shows in his interactions with those around him, both lifelong friends and new acquaintances he meets.
Elizabeth is a speech-language pathologist at a local pediatric clinic. She enjoys working with kids of all ages, especially high school aged students. She is passionate about serving students with intellectual disabilities and helping them achieve what they are capable of. As you can tell with her work, she has a great patience that is only overshadowed by her kindness. This extends outside of her work to all those in need around her. When she is not working, Elizabeth enjoys running, playing with our two dogs, spending time with friends and family, and going on hikes. She also loves music; she played piano from age four until her senior year of high school and continues to play for fun at home.
We started dating in the Fall of 2016 after knowing each other for two years through our local church. During our time dating, some of our favorite activities included going to football and baseball games, going on hikes, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with our friends.
We were married in June 2018 at a wedding venue called The Carl House in Auburn, Georgia.
We enjoy spending time around the Atlanta area. We love finding new parks to explore, trying out different restaurants, and spending time at home.
