Erin and Ryan
Mount Pleasant, South Carolina
Hello! We're Ryan (31), Erin (31), and Sully (4) - welcome to our adoption profile!
We've been battling secondary infertility the past three years and we are SO excited to have reached this stage where we are sharing our adoption journey with you today. These past three years have been full of lows, full of "Why them and not us?" as we watched friends have baby after baby, but also full of highs as we embraced and loved this life God blessed us with across the board. Adoption was the only next step for us when we were officially diagnosed with secondary infertility. We didn't pursue any other avenue because we knew in our heart of hearts THIS is what God is calling us to do in our lives.
Currently, we are actively waiting and praying to be matched with a birth mother in the US! We are working with Nightlight Christian Adoptions to find our "match".
Sully cannot wait to welcome her new baby brother or sister into the family (although we're pretty sure at this point she thinks she's getting one of each, haha). We're funny enough writing this "family story" from our flat in London where we're about to move from into our home in the southern United States in a few short weeks. Our year abroad has strengthened us, shown us the beauty and diversity of God's people, instilled a sense of adventure into our family, and most of all shown us that of all the things in this big wide world, faith and family is most important.
Never did Ryan and Erin think they would be living and travelling Europe with their four-year-old for a year when they first met on a very wet and rainy horse race day in South Carolina during college. Fast forward to our (again, very wet and rainy) wedding in 2011, a few moves, having our biological daughter Sullivan Louise in 2015, buying a home in the city we love most near all our family and friends (Erin has 11 other cousins - two of which are adopted!) and then poof a surprise opportunity in London for a year... and now here we are. Moving back into the home we bought into the city we love most and starting on our biggest adventure yet - adopting baby #2!
We absolutely cannot wait to share our love for travel, the beach, lazy days with our good 'ol golden retrievers (Cotton & Mallie), cooking, and entertaining with all the friends and family who also can't wait to meet our next little blessing.
Thank you so much for all your prayers, love, and support!
With love and faithfulness,
Ryan, Erin, & Sully
