Milligan Family Adoption

After many years of prayer, research, and careful thought, we've decided to continue growing our family through international adoption from Burkina Faso. We believe that God has a special place in His heart for orphans, that each of us is created in His image, and that He calls His followers to use the resources they have to help others. Adoption is a practical way for us to share God's love and make a lasting difference in a child's life.

Why Burkina Faso? We've always had a heart for children in west Africa - an area where Courtney's grandparents served as missionaries. Burkina Faso has a rich culture and history, but has faced numerous recent challenges which have left many children without a stable home. By adopting from this country, we hope to provide a child a future filled with love and opportunity. We strongly feel that this will enrich not only this child's life but lives of our family and friends as well.

So, where are we in the process? We’ve completed our home study, been approved to adopt, and submitted our application to Burkina Faso. Now, we’re waiting for the country to match us with a child. Our adoption agency, Nightlight Christian Adoptions, has partnered with Adoption Bridge to help raise support for families like ours.

How can you help? As you can imagine, adoption—especially international adoption—comes with a significant financial cost. The expenses include application fees, agency fees, legal fees, travel, medical costs, and other important paperwork. While we are doing everything we can to cover as much of the cost as possible, we know we can’t do it alone.
