Harrison and LeAnna's Embryo Adoption Journey

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our page! We have decided to pursue embryo adoption. While this wasn’t our first choice in how to build our family, we are excited to follow this unique form of adoption!

After a year of marriage, we decided to start trying to have children in June of 2022. This started a path of pregnancy, doctor’s visits, and multiple miscarriages and surgeries. As we went through this process, we learned that Harrison has a “balanced chromosomal translocation.” This diagnosis meant that it would be difficult to carry a child to term. After the diagnosis, we decided to try one more time, but that resulted in a miscarriage as well. 

At this point, we decided that it was time to take a break and take some time to recover and research some other ways of getting the chance to raise kids in the house. Adoption was something that we talked about before we were married, but we never expected to be thinking about it so soon. After much prayer, research, and counsel from some close friends and pastors, we started pursuing embryo adoption. At the time of this post, we have applied and been accepted to Nightlight’s embryo adoption program, and we’re finishing up the home study portion of adoption.
