Jacob and Valerie
Greeley, CO
Our infertility journey began before we even knew each other. Jacob had been diagnosed with stage 3B testicular cancer just a month before his high school graduation. His life was saved with quick decisions made by him and his family to undergo multiple surgeries and chemotherapy. Although there was an attempt to preserve some sperm before his surgeries, the samples were null, because the priority was to begin life-saving treatment as soon as possible.
When we first embarked on the journey of children through embryo adoption, our goal was to complete our family with the first set of five embryos. Due to our financial circumstances, the funding process for adoption is burdensome and we were heartbroken to learn we would have to go through an adoption process again to complete our family. We are overjoyed with our first child but have a deep ache for more children.
We are currently in the third phase of our adoption process, the Snowflakes Embryo Adoption Program’s Contracts Phase. We have completed the necessary certifications, background checks, and a home study with Nightlight Christian Adoptions. To fund the adoption thus far, we have used funds from our regular cash flow and inheritance money, contributing a total of $5,235.00. These were all the funds we had available to contribute personally.
Now, we find ourselves facing a significant financial hurdle. We must rely on grants, scholarships, loans, and aid from others to complete the adoption. The remaining amount required is $25,000, which includes $4,500 for the remaining Snowflakes adoption fee and $20,500 for fertility clinic fees. These fees cover the cost of two frozen embryo transfers (FET), as our previous experience showed that two FETs were necessary for Valerie to become pregnant. The clinic fees also include all required medications, extra bloodwork, ultrasounds, and testing mandated by the clinic before the doctor can perform the FET.
Despite our deep desire and commitment to expanding our family, we are overwhelmed by the financial strain. This is why we are reaching out for assistance.
We dream of giving these embryo babies a loving home and hope to find the support we need to make this a reality. Will you be a part of our family's journey?
