Our story of adoption starts before we even got married. Matthew and I love kids and envisioned a large family. We knew that the road could possibly be bumpy since I was diagnosed with composite lymphoma at 18 years old, and deemed most likely unable to have children. Adoption has therefore always been on the table and was a part of our conversations early on in dating. After getting married in 2017, we didn’t waste any time starting our family to see what was possible and were quickly blessed with a beautiful little girl. She is our miracle baby and we are so grateful for the opportunity to raise her!

Due to medical factors on both sides, we haven’t been able to conceive again. For the last few years, we have heavily considered adoption, but weren’t sure on the timing and which avenue to take. Then the Lord dropped a situation in our laps in the Fall of 2024. I was approached about adopting two Native American siblings—brother and sister. Without hesitation, Matthew said “Yes!” We prepared our home and made the 8-hour trip to the reservation. Sadly, we sorely found out that custody let alone adoption wasn’t going to be possible due to circumstances outside our control. The news was devastating, but we continued to pray holding the expansion of our family with an open hand.

We first heard about Embryo Adoption through a family friend. There are over a million cryopreserved embryos left over from IVF attempts in the United States alone! Embryo Adoption allows us to give some of these children a chance to reach their full potential, allows us to permanently expand our family, and gives voice to the value of life at conception. Adoption is a beautiful picture of the gospel (since through Christ we too are adopted into the family of God) and we believe God has led us to pursue embryo adoption as a demonstration of His great love.

There’s so much important growth and bonding that happens in a mother’s womb, as well as, in infancy. Matthew and I are excited about the prospect of getting to “house” and raise our adopted children from the start. We plan on adopting 4-6 genetically related embryos with the intent to unthaw all of them. The sad reality is that while all will be given the opportunity to reach their full potential, not all of them will be earth-side babies. Our desire is to have 1-2 more children, but remain open.

Being parents has been one of the greatest blessings and adventures of our lives. We are content and grateful to have our daughter, but would love the opportunity to grow our family. Our daughter is equally excited and often expresses her desire to have siblings. Together, we are walking forward in faith trusting in God’s provision for our family.

In closing, our total cost estimate is $30,000, which covers agency and medical fees (not including the pregnancy or birth). We aim to raise a third of this amount through Adoption Bridge and the remainder via fundraisers. Please consider praying for us over the course of this year, sharing our page, and checking back for updates. 1. We have been approved and are currently entering in the home study phase! Please pray we would be able to move forward in this process fairly quickly and that God would be preparing our hearts for what's to come.
