Called to Love: My Journey to Adopt
Taneka

As someone who has spent my life in education—earning a Ph.D. in Special Education and serving for over two decades in public schools—I’ve devoted my heart and energy to nurturing children who need strong, steady support. My journey has always been about helping young people grow, especially those who’ve faced challenges early on. That calling naturally led me to adoption. I’ve seen firsthand how love, structure, and advocacy can change a child’s life—and now I’m ready to open my own home and heart in a deeper way. Adoption isn’t just a desire for me; it’s a purpose that’s been planted and nurtured over many seasons of life.
I’m using AdoptionBridge because I believe in the power of community—of people coming together to support something bigger than themselves. This journey is emotional, complex, and costly, but it’s one I am walking with full faith and open arms. I know I can offer a safe, loving, and joy-filled life to a child who needs it most. AdoptionBridge allows me to tell my story, share my heart, and invite others to become part of this deeply personal mission. I’m so grateful for every prayer, share, and donation—each one brings me closer to holding the child I already carry in my spirit.
