Our Journey to Parenthood: Your Support Matters

Howdy, all! My name is Garrett. First, I want to thank you for taking the time to read this. As the title states, my wife, Britney, and I are looking for help with funding the adoption of our child.
Britney and I met when we were both in our 30’s, got married in 2020, and decided that we wanted to start a family in 2021. We had been trying to conceive a child until autumn of 2023 when Britney had a medical emergency. This, understandably, put our efforts on hold until she had recovered. In the summer of 2024, however, doctors informed us that carrying a pregnancy would be an extreme risk for both Britney and the baby. This news devastated both of us, and we were unsure of what our next steps would be.
But from the ashes of one dream rises another. We decided to look into adopting a child and determined that would be how we would begin to grow our family. We investigated all our options by contacting various agencies and laid out a gameplan from there. Unfortunately, the costs moving forward with an adoption are tremendously high. This financial effort would have to 100% be covered by us in full.
The grand total of this process is going to be between $40,000 and $60,000. We have been accepted into a program with the America World Agency and are currently funding what we can out of pocket. Here is a rough breakdown of what these donated funds would provide for our family:
Raising a child comes with many financial incurrences, and any additional support beyond our goal will go toward funding the needs of our child. There are grants for families on a mission to adopt internationally that we are looking into. However, these grants have a long waiting process and are not guaranteed to be awarded to us. Thus, we are please asking for your help to raise at least half of the funds necessary to assist us with starting our family.
We understand that this is a very large goal. We also feel like this is a lot to ask for, but we will be so very thankful for any assistance we receive. Hey kids,
It has been a little while since our last update, and since we've just passed a significant milestone, we thought now would be a good time to share.
We're thrilled to announce that we've officially completed our home study, all the necessary evaluations, and our adoption education and training! It feels like we've climbed a big hill, and we're so grateful for all the support we've received along the way.
Our next big step is getting our completed file to the state, so they can then forward it to India. It's another step closer to meeting our little one!
Now that we've reached this point, we feel comfortable sharing that we are in the process of adopting a little girl from India, between the ages of two and five. We haven't been matched with our daughter yet, but we are filled with hope and anticipation that the call will come sooner rather than later.
