Domestic Adoption

Dear Birth Mother,

Hi there. We’re Michael and Samantha, and first we just want to say—thank you. We can only imagine the weight of the decision you’re facing, and we’re honored that you’d take even a moment to learn about our family. Please know that we see you, we respect you, and we are deeply grateful for your love and consideration.

We live in the Upstate of South Carolina with our almost 3 year old son “G” and our dog Brandy. G is creative, curious, and full of personality—he keeps us laughing with his made-up songs and spontaneous dance moves. Music is a big part of our life, and there’s rarely a day that goes by without a family dance party or “living room concert.”

We met in college and fell in love fast—one of those “when you know, you know” kinds of stories. Years later, we’re still each other’s best friend. Michael works from home as an insurance broker, and Samantha recently returned to working part-time at our church. We’re lucky to have a lot of quality time together as a family, and flexibility as needed/ desired! On weekends you can find us checking out local coffee shops, exploring nearby farmers markets, or just playing in the backyard with G and Brandy.

Adoption has been on our hearts for a long time. Samantha knew she wanted to adopt ever since a mission trip to Haiti, where she spent time working in a local orphanage. That experience opened her eyes in a powerful way, and adoption became something we talked about early in our relationship. Over the years, that hope and calling only grew stronger for both of us. We truly believe this is how we are meant to complete our family, and we can’t wait to welcome another child with open hearts and open arms.

Family means everything to us. And while most of our extended relatives live in North Carolina, we’ve built an incredible community here—friends who feel like family and a supportive church full of people who have walked through fostering and adoption themselves. It’s a gift to have so many people ready to love and support the next child who joins our family.

We want to say this clearly: if we are chosen to walk this journey with you, we believe that adoption should always center what’s best for the child. That includes honoring where they come from, who they come from, and creating a space where they feel rooted and loved. We are open and committed to building a relationship with you based on mutual respect, openness, and love. We’re here to work with you to figure out what that relationship looks like, and no matter what, we will do everything we can to honor the heritage and story of their first family—you.

Thank you again for considering us. We are holding you in our hearts and prayers during this time, and if our paths are meant to cross, we’re ready to welcome your child into a home full of love, laughter, music, and intention.

With warmth and gratitude,
Michael, Samantha, G, and Brandy

*You may notice that we don't share our son's name or face online, this is done with intention. We are mindful to a child's presence on the internet and are committed to honoring his privacy as well as our next child. We hope you understand!
