Yesterday, October 19, 2017, one of the women that we have had the privilege of serving in our domestic adoption program passed away unexpectedly due to complications in child birth. In Nightlight’s 58-year history in domestic adoption, we have never lost a birth mother during child birth. We are all shocked and saddened by this tragedy. Tiara leaves behind 3 teenage children ages 17, 15, and 13, as well as boy and girl twins born on October 19, 2017. Tiara was a single mom and her children are now facing the loss of their mother and a very unknown future. I know that many will have questions about her children and how they can help. We do not yet know all the answers, but we do know that there will be funeral expenses and other living expenses for Tiara’s 3 teenage children. If you would like to make a charitable donation toward these expenses, please click the link below and then click the "make a contribution" button to the right and follow the prompts. We appreciate your prayers for this family. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted. Psalm 34:18

  1. Thankfully, we have found a funeral home that is donating much of their services to provide a funeral for Tiara. We are very thankful to this generous donor though the amount that will be covered, we are not yet certain. In addition, it appears that the children's grandparents will be taking guardianship of them, and Nightlight is assisting them in the legal process. So far, on our two fundraising pages, we have raised $735 toward funeral expenses and other needs. Your generous donations continue to be appreciated as are your prayers. Thank you.

I am so sorry for the loss of this woman who chose to give life, rather than ending it. Two precious lives have entered the world to become the children of two people who will be the best parents ever. The adoptive couple will be forever grateful as well as the rest of us who will watch them grow up.

My prayers go out to you all.

God's ways n thoughts are not ours. Just have to trust Him as he is in control. We cannot understand such tragedy but we can trust the Creator who giveth n taketh. Praying for His endless peace for all involved.
