We do not know the circumstances that brought you here. We do not know what you have heard or faced leading up to these moments. But we want you to know that you are brave. We want you to affirm your decision to choose life. Society, or people you know, and sometimes even yourself, will tell you that the life you carry within you isn't valuable or another choice would be easier. We are thankful that you think and choose otherwise. We are honored that you would take the time to consider us for your child. We hope this book gives you a window into who we are.
We met in 2010 at church. Zachary was a medical student, and Marcia a nurse in the ER. Zachary had love-at-first-sight and wrote in his prayer journal that he wanted to marry Marcia. She, however, wanted to be friends. Zachary respected her wishes, while doing what he could to be around her. Eventually, Zachary moved away and all but gave up on being together. But when he returned to visit in 2012, sparks ignited for Marcia. We dated long-distance and married ten months later.
We live in a 3 story row home in a large city. Zachary works as a primary care physician for children and adults in a clinic that serves the needy. Marcia cares for our son Theodore and runs a non-profit organization focused on providing quality education for inner-city children. We enjoy traveling together, watching movies, doing fun things outdoors and spending time with friends.
We have always wanted to adopt children. Even while we were engaged we talked about one day adopting children. We thought we'd have biological children first. After many years of trying to conceive, though, we were unable to have biological children. So we decided to pursue adoption. We adopted our first child in December 2020 and are excited to adopt again.
If chosen, we will provide a caring home that reflects Jesus' Love to you and your baby. We pray that God will give you wisdom as you make difficult choices in the near future. Know that we are praying for you during this time. Thank you, once again, for taking the time to get to know us!
