Greetings from Texas! We want to thank you for taking the time to look at our profile and we also want you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers as you navigate this difficult, heartfelt journey to parent or choose adoption for you and your child.
To let you know a little bit about ourselves, we live in West Texas and have been married for 6 years. We have 3 pets; a cat named Hurley, a chocolate lab named Bear and a corgi named Sven (yes, his name came from the movie Frozen). We met in 2011, instantly hit it off and pretty soon after knew that we were meant for each other. We married in June of 2012 in a beautiful outdoor ceremony attended by close friends and LOTS of family.
Vance has two older brothers and an older sister, along with two nephews and three nieces. Vance graduated from Tarleton State University with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine in 2009. Taylor has two younger sisters. She graduated from Baylor University with her Bachelor of Science in Education in 2011. Taylor teaches elementary kindergarten thru 5thgrade P.E. and Vance is an athletic trainer for a local hospital. We both love sports. Vance is able to be around a multitude of sports of all levels through his profession, while Taylor gets to teach and equip kids with the skills and knowledge of sports and leading a healthy lifestyle.
We enjoy attending many sporting events of all levels but especially cheering for the Baylor Bears (Sic ‘Em Bears!) Leading a healthy lifestyle is important to us and we enjoy working out at our local CrossFit gym multiple times a week. Vance grew up on a farm. We love going back home to visit his parents to enjoy a slower pace and being outdoors surrounded by family, plus Taylor’s side of the family lives in the neighboring town so we get to see and enjoy both sides of our family during the same trip.
We attend a local Baptist church and love it. It has a huge children and youth program, so we can’t wait to grow our family at this church. We are committed to raising our family in a Christian home.
Adoption is something we discussed as a couple before we even tried to conceive a biological child. Taylor’s father and Vance’s brother-in-law were adopted so it has always been close to our hearts. After 3 years of failed fertility treatments, we felt God call us to adoption and we were finally ready to listen to Him and trust in His plan for us. We don’t see adoption as a second choice, we see it as God’s true plan for us.
If you choose us for your adoption plan we are eager and ready to share this adventure with you through letters, pictures, emails, calls and visits as you feel comfortable. We want your child to know and continue to know what a brave and courageous person you are during this decision-making process. We pray that God gives you comfort and strength throughout your life.
