We hope this letter finds you well, and we want you to know that we’ve been praying for you. While this may be a very difficult time for you, we want to honor your courage and bravery in considering adoption for your child.
Jenni and I currently live in Lexington, Kentucky and have been married for 5 years. We met in Miami, Florida after a mutual friend introduced us to one another. Jenni works as a high school teacher, and I’m currently in my final year of Orthopaedic Surgery residency.
Lexington has been an amazing place for our small family, but our family’s growth has been slower than expected. We both wanted to grow our family through the process of adoption, even before we ever met. While we knew adoption would be a part of our story, 4 years of infertility has given us a desire to build our family through adoption sooner than anticipated. We both long to be parents and to welcome children into our home! We are so excited to become parents one day and hope to have a family of 3-4 children.
Jenni and I enjoy so many different things. We are actively involved in our church community and faith is a large part of our lives. We love going for hikes in Kentucky, visiting the Florida Keys and the coast of Maine with our extended families. We enjoy paddle boarding and snorkeling. We love game nights with friends, comfy Friday nights watching movies, and playing with our puppy, Bella. Bella is a 9 pound Maltipoo with a personality much larger than her body. She loves cuddles and children and she would be a great big sister.
We have a great relationship with our extended family on both sides. Both of our families live in Miami and are excited to have more grandchildren to love! We talk to them frequently and are eager to move closer to our parents, siblings, and other extended family in the next 2-3 years. Our families love big family dinners, weekend days on the boat, time swimming in the pool, and relaxing moments around bonfires.
Depending on your comfort level, we would love to keep an open relationship with you. However, we will respect your privacy and will honor any decision you make, whether that is little or no contact, occasional letters and photos, or welcoming you into our fun, incredible extended family.
We know that this can be a difficult time for you. We care deeply for you and are here to help in any way we can. We will continue to pray for you and care for you whatever you decide.
