We want to thank you for taking the time to look through our profile today. We know you are in a position of making a difficult decision and we pray that you feel encouraged and loved through your process.
We are Ty and Leah. We met through mutual friends in 2004, and because of many common interests and personality traits, almost instantly became close friends. After several years of friendship, we began dating, and 2 years later, we got married on our dating anniversary. (We've now been married for 8 years.) One big thing we discovered we had in common during our friendship was our heart for kids and how we each desired to build onto our (then) future family through adoption. We loved sharing that dream and are excited to now be working on it!
We live in a 3-bedroom home in a quiet neighborhood where we know most of the neighbors on our street. We have 2 biological children-- Jude, 5 years old, and Amelie, 3 years old. Jude is smart, snuggly, and thoughtful. He loves learning and is very creative. Amelie has always been our smiley and happy baby. She, too, loves to snuggle, and is very imaginative. She and Jude make a fantastic duo and they are so looking forward to becoming a trio!
We are an adventurous family. We love hiking, bike riding, reading, and day trips to nearby museums, hiking trails, or other fun destinations. We attend a non-denominational church together every week that we love. The kids enjoy their classes and learning about the Bible and God's love!
Ty works hard as a project engineer for his company. While he is fully committed to his job during the work hours, he is fully dedicated to spending time with the kids in the evenings and on the weekends. With our schedules, he gets to have "dada time" with the kids while Leah is at the ballet studio a few evenings a week. Leah loves being a stay at home mom. We began our homeschool journey this past year and we are having a great time! Jude has been learning to read, write, do simple math, and learning about his favorite things-- like space and science. Amelie is enjoying working on recognizing her letters, numbers, and shapes. Leah also teaches ballet a few evenings a week and on Saturday mornings. When Jude and Amelie were born, Ty took one week off of work and Leah took her full 6 week maternity leave. We plan to each do the same when we welcome a new little one into our family as we all bond.
We have so many family members in town to love on our kids. Leah's sister's family lives a mile away, and Jude and Amelie spend a few hours on Wednesday afternoons at their house playing with cousins while Leah is at the studio and Ty is still at work. Both sides of our families are thrilled that we are pursuing adoption!
We would love to meet you and get to know you, if that is something you desire. And we would love to keep an open relationship through pictures, texts, and visits, if you are comfortable with that, after the baby is born.
Again, thank you for taking your time to get to know our family!
Sincerely, Ty and Leah
