Domestic Adoption

Hello, it’s nice to meet you! Thank you for taking time to learn a little bit about our family. We are Tapley and Whitney and are so excited to grow our family through open adoption! We know you are facing a very difficult decision and we admire your strength and courage. We hope we can be part of your journey and give you peace with your decision. We promise to cherish and love your child with our hearts and souls and provide a safe and happy home and a life with every opportunity possible. We understand that adoption isn’t about what we can gain, but what we can give. We want to give another child the opportunity for a happy and fulfilling life. TOGETHER!

We first met in highschool, though we were just acquaintances at the time. Years later after college, we ended up hanging out together with Tapley’s sister, who Whitney was good friends with. We hit it off and started dating in March of 2010. We knew early on that we were meant to be. Three years later we were married on a farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains surrounded by close friends and family. Together we raise Tapleys 12 year old daughter, Myla, from a previous relationship. Myla is such a blessing and brings so much joy and fun to our home. Myla was 2 when we started dating so Whitney has been the primary maternal figure in Myla’s life.

We live in Upstate South Carolina, which is located between the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and close to several lakes and only a few short hours from the coast. Our home is a 2-story cape cod with 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. It was built in 1985. We live in an established neighborhood filled with families and near great schools. We have a neighborhood pool with a swim team, tennis courts, and playground. Myla has been on swim team for the past 6 years. There is a small lake within walking distance where we can feed the ducks, walk our dog, Abby, and ride our bikes.  We regularly hang out with neighbors that have kids of all ages. We plan to stay here because Myla has the ability to have a childhood similar to ours- riding her bike to the pool, having lots of friends that live in walking distance, and having a safe place where neighbors look out for each other. We are an adventurous family. We love camping, hiking, kayaking, and are generally up for being outside whenever we have time. We also attend a Presbyterian church together every week that we love!

Tapley is an incredible baker! He recently took over his family’s bakery and works very hard to carry on their legacy. Tapley is an amazing father to Myla. Watching them together will melt your heart, their bond is undeniable! Tapley is strong, hardworking, smart, honest, and funny. He always knows how to make me laugh. He is one of the most kindhearted and gentle people you will ever meet. He is patient and loves me to no end. Tapley makes life fun and is always up for an adventure.

Whitney works really hard at her job as a dental hygienist. She absolutley loves getting to know her patients, educating them, and building relationships. She is caring, sweet, faithful, outgoing and keeps our family organized. Whitney has been an amazing mother to our daughter, Myla. She has loved her as if she was her own for the last 9 1/2 years. She has a strong moral back ground and does her best to develop strong character with our daughter. Whitney has a great sense of humor and brings lots of laughter and joy into our lives.

After many years of coping with seemingly endless infertility, treatments, a miscarriage and a whole lot of heartbreak, we realized the way we had hoped to grow our family was not in God’s plan for us. We believe a family is made of people that love and support each other. We want you to know that we are also here to support you as we know you are making the hardest decision of your life. The struggles that we faced with infertility have only strengthened our marriage and made us think about what is most important and what we truly want for our family. For us, it is to be parents to our children; however they may come to us. We are so excited for the day we welcome a new baby into our family and Myla can’t wait to be a big sister!

We are both blessed to come from families that provide support, encouragement, and love. We know we would not be where we are today without them. The majority of our family lives close by and we are able to see them often. Our families are very involved in our day to day lives and will play a big role in any child’s growth. Both of our families are extremely excited about our decision to grow our family through adoption. They can’t wait to welcome a new child into the family!

We promise to love you and your baby as our own. We promise to raise your child with unconditional love in a safe, secure home, with faith-based values. We will encourage your childs hopes and dreams and provide the best possible education. We promise our home will be a safe place to grow, full of opportunity and encouragement. We promise your child will have a home filled with laughter and joy. We promise that your child will always know of the amazing choice you made to bring them into our lives. This is something our family will never forget. Most of all, we promise they will know you as their birthmother who will forever love them like nobody else can!
