We write this letter with great anticipation and hope we do our best in putting our thoughts and feelings into words. Our hope is that this letter brings you peace, comfort, and assurance in being able to see our intention and heart behind adoption. This letter can only share so much, but we hope that it will give you a glimpse into the life we have and the family we desire to create; a family you can come to know and trust.
We don't know the situation that brought you here today, but we wonder if anyone has told you how remarkable you are? We imagine this may be a moment in time that you didn't plan for and a season of hard decisions for you and your baby. Here you are making those tough choices. Maybe you are set on adoption or maybe you are still considering your options. Please know that we will be praying for you to have the strength and wisdom you need to have peace with whatever you choose.
We met 9 years ago on Maui and we quickly fell in love. Aside from becoming parents, our marriage has been the greatest adventure of our lives. When we were ready to start a family, our doctor let us know that we might not be able to get pregnant but we knew we wanted to have kids. Our desire to have a family is what led us to adoption. Adoption is beautiful, emotional, and such an incredible way to bring families together. We were blessed with our daughter, Asha, through adoption two years ago. We still have an open relationship with her birth mom and hope that we will all of her life.
When adopting our daughter, we knew there was uncertainty (on both sides) about what our relationship would look like moving forward. We are forever grateful to Asha’s birth mom and will be to you as well, should you choose us. We want you to never have to question how your child is doing. You can expect pictures and updates frequently, and even visits if you are up for it!
Family means a lot to us! We couldn't be more thankful for the friends and family that surround us with so much love. We value quality time and adventure. It is a big part of how we grew up. Jessie has 6 brothers and there was never a dull moment in her family. Whether it was having a backyard campfire or doing cross-country trips, everyone enjoyed being together. Shane has grown up on islands his whole life. His childhood was full of swimming, fishing, and swinging on vines in the jungle with his three siblings. Our desire is to raise our children in a fun, loving, but simple way. We want them to know they will always be loved, supported, heard, and encouraged to live life to the fullest.
If you select us as parents, we would very much like to continue a relationship with you. We want you to have peace with the choices you are making and would love for you to get to know us. Our hope is that you will have the reassurance you need to know that we will love your child unconditionally. Please let us know if you have any questions that may help you get to know us better.
