Dear Expectant Mom,
Howdy and gig ‘em! We are Scott & Aimee. Thank you for wanting to learn a little bit about us. We are incredibly grateful to you for considering us as parents for your precious child. We want you to know you have been in our prayers as you face such difficult decisions. You are a hero to us, and to that sweet baby, regardless of the decision you make during this process.
Our beginning: It was August of 2000 at Texas A&M University. The first time we met, Scott joked about someone stealing his truck. I said “I’d love to have it!” and he handed me the keys. Silly, silly man. I drove off and even used his spare change to get me a late night snack. He was shocked when I told him that he didn’t have enough money for me to buy him something too! Scott says it was part of his master plan to get me hooked. Well, he successfully reeled me in and we tied the knot in the fall of 2004. We both won that day.
Who are we? Both of us are Texans, born and bred. Scott is from small town Bay City and Aimee is from Austin. We now live in a child-filled cul-de-sac in Spring, TX. Everybody loves Scott. He excels at building and maintaining good relationships. That quality makes him very successful as an account manager/salesman for a building supply company. His flexible schedule allows him to enjoy vacations and time with family. Aimee is just plain fun and fun-ny! Her laughter is contagious. She is a kid at heart and loves nature. Aimee is a true encourager and is honored to be a mentor to many young women and high school girls. She is passionate about helping women understand that they were created to thrive, not just survive, and this is only made possible through Jesus.
We are blessed with amazing friends and family who can’t wait for us to adopt a child. And with every day that passes, we get more and more excited about the family we know God will build through this process. We have been able to celebrate with other friends as they adopt their children and it continues to become more evident that this is the path meant for us. Even though we experienced many years of infertility and multiple miscarriages, open adoption truly has become our number one choice of growing our family. Knowing that this child already has an amazing, rich, unique, and God-breathed story is incredible to us. We are also looking forward to building a relationship with you as we get to love and raise our precious gift from God. It is very important to us for this child to know you and to know the gift you gave them.
Coming soon…our family of THREE: Aimee has worked in local government for 16 years, but she is ready to be a stay-at-home mom. She’s had lots of fun practice with our nieces and nephew going to the Aquarium, the Houston Zoo, and even the children's museum. Season tickets to those places is a must! We also look forward to evening walks to our neighborhood park with our two dogs, Brix & Tannin. They adore kids and will love playing with our new addition. Some of our favorite activities include traveling, game nights with friends, spending time with our church family, and most recently, hitting the gym. But weekends at our ranch top the list and we can’t wait to make new memories there with our family of three! Scott is ready to teach our child the art of fishing, hunting, and everything outdoors.
2016 proved to be a year of many changes for us as we completely revamped our lifestyle and started taking care of our physical bodies. We have each lost a significant amount of weight through natural means and we couldn’t embrace it more. We know this is just another way God has prepared us to be the best parents possible.
Lastly, because of the losses we have had, we have a deeper appreciation for life, for love, for children. They are a gift, and we will never get over the magnitude of that. And we know it’s only by the sacrifice of a loving birth mom that our dreams of becoming parents can be realized. We are eternally thankful, truly.
With Grateful Hearts,
Scott & Aimee
