Dear Expectant Mother, Hello! We are Matt and Amanda from northern Colorado. We can't begin to understand the weight of the decision you have before you and feel blessed and honored that you would consider us a potential match for the life of your beautiful child. We knew, from the very beginning, that adoption was our primary choice for expanding our family. In 2017, we adopted our now 8-year-old son, Desi, from South Korea. He is the greatest joy in our lives, and we so look forward to celebrating a new little one and welcoming you into our family as well! We know that through this adoption, our families will be inextricably linked for the entirety of your child’s life. It is vital to us, for this reason, that we offer a transparent and honest look at our family’s lifestyle and values so that you can make the best decision for yourself, your baby, and your future.   The most vital thing we want you to know is that your name, gift, and sacrifice will always be honored in our home. We don't see adoption as the severing of a family but of the grafting in of a new family unit -- one that I'm sure may get messy or complicated at certain points, just as family tends to be, but one that is in the best interest of the child and maintains a strong genetic and cultural identity to you. We want to share pictures, milestones, letters, and open avenues of communication in whatever form is deemed to be most healthy as the child grows. We see the trauma and feel the weight of your decision and want you to rest assured that we will raise this child to the absolute best of our ability, and we welcome you to be a part of that journey. In whatever ways we can integrate you and your story into our lives, we want to create opportunities for that. What sort of traditions do you want to see continued in your family’s legacy through this child? If you are of a different race or ethnicity, what values, holidays, and recipes can we integrate to maintain this beautiful connection to your heritage? We want to create a consistent connection with you both through the integration of your values into our parenting style.   As we’ve stated so many times before, we feel it is a profound honor and privilege that you would consider our family to be the right fit for your sweet baby.
