Dear Expectant Mother, Our names are Cherisse and Jason, and we are honored that you have taken the time to review our profile book to learn about our lives and journey to grow our family through adoption. We live in South Carolina and have been married for eight years. We have a daughter named Naomi, who is four years old, and a pet betta fish named Snap. Our journey as a couple began 10 years ago when we were introduced by a mutual friend. During our early years together, we learned that we would have to grow our family through adoption due to challenges with infertility. As a result, our daughter Naomi came into our family through adoption. Naomi has been such a blessing not just to us as a couple, but also to our entire extended family. We are forever, humbly thankful for Naomi’s birthmother coming into our lives and allowing us to raise and parent Naomi. Every year that Naomi is in our life, the sacrifice that her birthmother has made resonates stronger in our heart, and it makes us want to strive harder to provide the life that she dreams for Naomi. Our daily life is busy, but full of adventure. We are a musical family. Music is an ever-present sound that floats through our home. We also love travel. Our favorite travel spot is the beach because it is our happy place. All three of us love to play games as a family whether we are playing a board game together or we are playing soccer in our yard. Fostering a love for reading is very important to us. We spend a lot of time reading as a family. We also enjoy exposing our daughter to new experiences, art, culture and just the world around us. We are now wanting to extend our love and dedication to a second child. Our whole family, including Naomi, is anticipating further growth of our family. She plays wonderfully with other kids and often regularly asks – like daily – about having a sibling. Therefore, a second child is very much wanted by all of us. We are committed to raising children in a loving home that is supportive and faith filled. We hope that, by looking through our book, you will get a glimpse of our lives and what type of parents we are.
