Domestic Adoption

Dear Birthmother,

We write this letter with hearts full of gratitude for this opportunity. Adoption is so many things and “easy” is not one of them. We have experienced so many emotions during this process, and we can’t begin to comprehend how difficult it is to work through the emotions and decisions you are being faced with. We want you to know that we are praying for peace, comfort and clarity for you as you are on this journey.

Jacob and I have been married for almost 5 years. We met in 2014, at our church, during a Generation Alive event where we filled bags of food for the homeless in our community and around the world. We dated for six months and got married in August 2015. We’ve spent many hours in prayer seeking the next steps for our relationship. We knew we were ready to become a team and follow whatever calling God had on our lives. Jacob truly is my closest and truest friend. We currently live in Southern California with family in a large house. We have our own living quarters where we can get away. We have a swimming pool and an acre of land to explore. There are lots of children in our neighborhood and we are close to our church. We are building a house in Post Falls, Idaho and are planning to move to our new home in Christmas of 2020. In that neighborhood, we have a smaller plot of land but it is in a safe area close to schools. There are parks, splash pads, and walking trails. We will also be closer to my parents and Jacob’s parents will be able to visit often and be a part of their grandchild’s life.

Jacob and I both currently work for our family company. Jacob is a Project Manager. He is working on taking over certain areas of the business in our Spokane location where he will continue working after we move. I am currently an Assistant Manager and work from home. Once the baby is born, I will take some time off to bond with our child. Once work starts back up, we will hire a part-time nanny to help around the house and assist in child care. I feel so fortunate that working from home allots me plenty of time to spend with our child.  I have an essential oil company, and photography company that I do on the side. When we move to Idaho, I plan to pursue my own wellness and lifestyle business. This will allow me to continue to work from home and create my own work schedule around my biggest priority, being a mother. My goal is to grow my business to eventually replace both my income and Jacob’s income so that we can be a fulltime family.

In our spare time, we enjoy working out together, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. We love having friends and family over to relax, barbeque and swim. We also enjoy camping and going to the beach. We both are very creative and love doing artsy things. Recently, Jacob has been making carbon fiber car parts and I have been creating custom glitter tumbler cups for fun. On Sundays, we attend our church’s first service as a family and twice a month, during the second service, Jacob and I serve in the toddlers’ room. It is so fun being able to love on our church community and pour into our future generation. We have been so blessed and our biggest desire is to share all of our life with a child that we can love, adore and raise in a way that honors our family and God.

Adoption has always been very important to me. I was adopted at 5 weeks old. Adoption has been a very positive experience for me. Jacob and I have been in agreement that adoption would always be something we would pursue as it is something I hold so dear to my heart. I would love to elaborate more if we get the chance to meet.

We would be honored to meet you. We are open to sending photos, texts, emails, phone calls and visits throughout the year if that is something you desire. Our hope is that you would want to maintain a relationship with us and you would become an extension of our family. Of course, we are open to whatever level of openness you feel comfortable with and understand that this can take time to figure out. We want you to know that we are here to support you in your desires for contact and openness to the best of our ability.

We are continuously praying that God covers you in peace, comfort and clarity as you move through this season in your life. We know this is an incredibly difficult season for you and we want you to know we are here for you, if that is something you equally desire.

With Love and Gratitude,

Jacob and Michaela
