We write this letter with hearts full of gratitude for this opportunity. Adoption is so many things and “easy” is not one of them. We have experienced so many emotions during this process, and we can’t begin to comprehend how difficult it is to work through the emotions and decisions you are being faced with. We want you to know that we are praying for peace, comfort and clarity for you as you are on this journey.
Jacob and I have been married for almost 5 years. We met in 2014, at our church, during a Generation Alive event where we filled bags of food for the homeless in our community and around the world. We dated for six months and got married in August 2015. We’ve spent many hours in prayer seeking the next steps for our relationship. We knew we were ready to become a team and follow whatever calling God had on our lives. Jacob truly is my closest and truest friend. We currently live in Southern California with family in a large house. We have our own living quarters where we can get away. We have a swimming pool and an acre of land to explore. There are lots of children in our neighborhood and we are close to our church.
Jacob and I both currently work for our family company. Jacob is a President if the San Diego Location. I also work for the same company as an Assistant Manager. We both go into the office and at this time our little one comes with us and will be able to continue until she starts Pre-School. Once the baby is born, I will take some time off to bond. Once work starts back up, the baby will come with me to work. When the kids get older we will have a nanny to help out at our office or I will stay home full time. I have an essential oil company, and photography company that I do on the side. I plan to pursue my own wellness and lifestyle business. This will allow me to continue to work from home and create my own work schedule around my biggest priority, being a mother. My goal is to grow my business to eventually replace both my income and Jacob’s income so that we can be a fulltime family.
In our spare time, we enjoy working out together, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. We love having friends and family over to relax, barbeque and swim. We also enjoy off-roading and going to the beach. We both are very creative and love doing artsy things. On Sundays, we attend our church regularly. We also serve on our married life ministry team and are apart of our young adults ministry. It is so fun being able to love on our church community and pour into our future generation. We have been so blessed and our biggest desire is to share all of our life with a child that we can love, adore and raise in a way that honors our family and God.
Adoption has always been very important to me. I was adopted at 5 weeks old. Adoption has been a very positive experience for me. Jacob and I have been in agreement that adoption would always be something we would pursue as it is something I hold so dear to my heart. I would love to elaborate more if we get the chance to meet.
We would be honored to meet you. We are open to sending photos, texts, emails, phone calls and visits throughout the year if that is something you desire. Our hope is that you would want to maintain a relationship with us and you would become an extension of our family. Of course, we are open to whatever level of openness you feel comfortable with and understand that this can take time to figure out. We want you to know that we are here to support you in your desires for contact and openness to the best of our ability.
We are continuously praying that God covers you in peace, comfort and clarity as you move through this season in your life. We know this is an incredibly difficult season for you and we want you to know we are here for you, if that is something you equally desire.
With Love and Gratitude,
Jacob and Michaela
