Dear Birth Mother,
We have yet to meet, but we believe there is a divine purpose at work allowing you to read this message from us. We wanted to start by saying a prayer for you and your child and the overwhelming decisions you are making each moment of every day.
“Trust God from the bottom of your heart, don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen to God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go, He is the one that will keep you on track “ - Proverbs 3:5-6 MSG Bible.
We are J and Amanda from San Diego, California. Our story together began in 2010 after a chance online meeting, a few phone calls and a lunch date a week later. From that time until now, our lives have been preparing us for the moment that we may be blessed with welcoming a child into our lives.
J was born and raised in the suburbs of San Diego and is the oldest of three siblings. As a child, J was always in search of an adventure, riding his bike everywhere with his brother or friends and playing sports. From a young age, J knew he wanted to be a firefighter and, while working fulltime, put himself through school. In 2000, J realized his dream and became a firefighter/paramedic. When we met, J had just been promoted to fire captain.
Amanda grew up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as the middle child of three siblings. She was an active child, always participating in dance, gymnastics, volleyball or springboard diving throughout her childhood. After attending law school at Penn State, Amanda moved to Phoenix, Arizona, to start her legal career. Following a lifelong dream to live near the beach, she eventually moved to San Diego where she continues to practice law.
We married in 2013 on the beach in North Carolina, before a small group of our family and friends. A few years later, we adopted our first two “fur babies”, Evie and Laddy, and moved into our family home. We have since adopted a third cat, Jinxy.
Adoption is not a second choice for us. It has been a desire of our hearts for several years. We are excited to share the many blessings that God has provided to us to allow our child to grow up in a home filled with unconditional love, emotional and financial support and ongoing encouragement.
We have thought about what it would be like to meet you, to learn about you and your hopes and dreams for your child. We are hopeful and open to the exchange of emails, photos, texts, phone calls and visits as the relationship grows.
We look forward to meeting you and getting to know you. May God bless you and keep you strong.
J and Amanda
