Dear Expectant Mother,

First and foremost, we want to say THANK YOU for taking the time to read our letter and learn more about our family. Having brought our first son home through adoption, we understand the difficulty and bravery that goes into this decision, and we want you to know that we trust your wisdom and judgment as you make the best possible choices for your baby and yourself. The love and sacrifice that goes into adoption is truly extraordinary, and we have so much respect and admiration for birth parents.

Secondly, allow us to introduce ourselves! We are Daniel and Ava. We’ve been married for 10 years and live in the great city of Austin, Texas. We met on New Years' Eve over twelve years ago and quickly knew we wanted to spend our lives together. While we were dating, we talked very seriously about our future together and both knew adoption would be a part of our story. After three years of marriage, we felt God calling us to start our adoption journey and in 2017 we welcomed home our son, Ezekiel!

The night Ezekiel was born was the happiest night of our lives. We always knew we wanted to be parents, but nothing could have prepared us for the way we fell madly in love with our son. We continue to have a wonderful relationship with Ezekiel’s birthmother, having had several in-person visits, as well as many Skype calls over the years. It’s hard to express the love and gratitude we feel towards her as her sacrificial act of love became the greatest part of our lives.

We are a very happy family that enjoys spending time together and having fun! We love to go swimming, play games, and hang out in our backyard. Ava works as an interior designer and Daniel as a worship leader at a church in Austin. We also love to travel! We’ve been all over the world as a family. Introducing our kids to different cultures, food, and experiences is very important to us and we can’t wait to continue exploring as a family of 4 in the years to come! Ezekiel is half Nigerian, and we’ve all enjoyed learning more about his heritage and celebrating who he is - we’ve even traveled to Africa twice as a family!

We are close to our extended families and see them often. Both of our families love Ezekiel so much and are so excited for us as we begin another adoption journey.

We’ve loved our time as a family of three, but we are all SO excited for a new child to join us. We’ve spent lots of time in prayer considering the right time to grow our family, and we firmly believe now is that time! We take the call to be adoptive parents very seriously and we want you to know we do not step into this role lightly. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time and we respect your decision, whatever it may be.
