We recognize you are facing a very difficult decision as you want to do what is best for your child. We want you to know that we appreciate your bravery in considering adoption and that we are praying for you and your child. Thank you for giving us this opportunity to introduce ourselves.
We met at a basketball game while in college, but attended schools in different states. We reconnected at church when Megan attended Graduate School nearby Clark's hometown, where he returned after graduation. We started dating shortly after, were engaged five months later, and married two months after that. It may sound cliché, but we just "knew." Megan found Clark's laid-back personality refreshing and Clark found Megan easy to talk to. Though our personalities are very different, we share the same values and balance each other. Where Clark has an abundance of patience and energy, Megan shines through empathy and thoughtfulness. We both love God and strive to put Him first, showing love, mercy, and compassion to others.
Our priorities include our families, our hobbies, and spending time together. Both of us love going to sporting events and plays, listening to music, and traveling. Tennis has been a big part of Clark's life since childhood. He has coached his high school's team for 10+ years and still plays competitively. He also enjoys playing other sports and games, and reading sports histories or mysteries. Megan loves to read, write, watch movies, go to concerts, and plan trips. Each year, we go on vacations throughout the country, marking off new states, National Parks, and Major League Baseball Stadiums, or spending time at the beach. We would love to share these experiences with a child.
We live in a small town in Kentucky, where Clark works as an Engineer and Megan works for a Financial Planner, nearby Clark's family and Megan's parents. Megan's brother's family lives in California, but we see them two to three times a year. Clark's parents are excited to have their first grandbaby and Megan's family is looking forward to adding more children to the mix. When we expressed our desire to adopt, everyone was very supportive and encouraging. We recognize how lucky we are to be surrounded by so much love, and want to show this same love to our child as well as provide him or her with as many opportunities for activities, education, and travel as we can.
Our path in choosing adoption started before we met. As a child, Megan always felt drawn to adoption. Then, when we were planning to get married, we discussed children and decided adoption was the journey we wanted to travel. We know this is a long and difficult process, but we are praying for you and your child continuously. We are open to discussing what type of relationship works for all involved and look forward to continuing on this journey with you if you desire.
Thank you for reading,
Clark and Megan
