Domestic Adoption

Dear Expectant Parent(s),

We can’t imagine what you may be going through or what led you to the decision you are making right now. We don’t know what it’s like to be in your shoes. We do know that we’re thankful for you. You love your child, you are choosing life for them and you want what is best for them. We don’t have the words to tell you how much we respect you for that. We see your selfless love and your courage. We hope one day to meet you face-to-face, but for now we are excited to share our life with you through this book.

Hi! We’re Christian and Cari. We met when we took a chance and agreed to be set up on a blind date by a mutual friend in 2013 and it ended up being life changing! We married in August of 2014 and have spent the last 7 years enjoying life together. We are proud dog-parents to our sweet little Yorkie, Bella, who is now 13 years old and the star of our home. We recently moved back to Dallas, TX after living in Denver, CO for two years for Christian’s job. It was there we discovered our love for hiking, snowshoeing and being outdoors! We also enjoy board games, exploring new restaurants (we’re big foodies), hanging out with friends/family and spending cozy nights at home.

Cari is a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal ICU. Taking care of babies and their families is her dream job and she’s had the privilege of serving in that role for the past 11 years. Christian recently completed training and started his career as a Licensed Psychologist at the county hospital where he provides therapy to patients regardless of their ability to pay. He is bilingual and provides mental health services in both English and Spanish.

Believe it or not, we talked about adopting a child on our second date. After years of infertility, we were faced with a decision to either pursue IVF or pursue adoption. God made it perfectly clear to us that we were to build our family through the gift of adoption. We are committed to celebrating our child’s origin story and will seek out ways to honor their culture for the rest of our lives.

The best part about living back in Texas is the community of people we have here. We live ten minutes from Cari’s parents and have a strong group of lifelong friends close by that are like family to us. Both of our families are so supportive and excited to see our family grow.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about us! We feel honored to be considered alongside so many wonderful families. We are praying for you, and we are grateful for you and the little life you are carrying.

With love,

Christian and Cari
