Domestic Adoption

Dear Birthmother,

We feel so blessed that you have made the loving and selfless decision to consider adoption with a Christian agency. We would like to tell you a little about our family:

Our story: We have been married since June 2002. We have known each other since childhood and grew up only 8 minutes from each other. Throughout our lives we have been very close friends, attended the same church, same university and shared mutual friends throughout our lives. Chris is the oldest of five children; Allison is the second youngest of four children.

On adoption: After unsuccessfully trying to start a family on our own, we had to begin a cycle of infertility treatments. The first cycle was not successful. Nor was the second, the third or the fourth. After five long years of being unable to start a family, our doctor explained that in vitro was our best option. We were devastated. After much prayer and discussion, we both agreed this was not an option we could commit to. Our choice was going to be adoption. After another two years of waiting, we were blessed through Generations Adoptions to have adopted a little boy in January of 2012. Our son’s name is Connor Thomas…and he is amazing. We were so excited, blessed, overjoyed and elated all at once. After seven years of waiting, we finally had the opportunity to be parents. Now we would again like to grow our family through adoption.

Our Birthmother Relationship: We have a wonderful relationship with our son’s birthmother. We keep her updated through pictures every month. We also have a yearly visit and look forward to it all year. She is such a special person and we are blessed to have her in our lives.  We love and respect her for the choice that she has made to allow us to be parents.

Home: We live in a great neighborhood in Grapevine, Texas – a city in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex.  There are other children the age of our son that he loves playing with, two parks in our neighborhood that we can walk to and many attractions in Grapevine that we love (Day Out with Thomas, Main Street Days, Gaylord Ice and water parks). We live within minutes of our church, our son’s pre-school and both of our offices.

Employment & Education: Chris is Director of Marketing & Business Development for Austin Commercial where he has worked since 2001. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management, a Master’s of Business Administration Degree in Organizational Management, has completed the Executive Education Program from UT Austin and is a graduate of Leadership Dallas. Allison was a business major in college and has worked as an office coordinator for a local dental firm since 2003. Since bringing Connor into our lives, Allison has reduced her work schedule to 3-4 days per week to spend time at home with our son. We take turns taking him and picking him up from pre-school.

Interests & Travel: We love spending time with our son and enjoy traveling and being outdoors. Most of our vacations are centered around family trips to mountain locations and beach destinations and Disney World/Universal Studios. We both enjoy taking long walks in our neighborhood, going to the movies and dining at different restaurants. Our family adores Connor.

While we can’t fully grasp the level of sacrifice you’re making by considering placing your child for adoption, we do understand you are displaying a selfless and wonderful act of love with this decision. We have had the blessing of experiencing this incredible miracle once and we want the opportunity to again grow our family through adoption. We also look forward to growing our relationship with you in the open adoption process, as we have with Connor’s birthmother. Thank you for considering our family. God bless you and be with you.

Hopeful parents,

Chris & Allison
