Dear Birth Mother,
We are humbled and thankful that you would read our letter and consider us. We will be praying for you during this difficult time and know that no matter the heritage, race or background of your child, we will always respect your story. We know this is not an easy decision and will remind your child of where they came from, how brave their parents were and that they loved them so much they made the hardest decision ever. Your journey will always be told as a part of your child’s story. We believe that adoption is a beautiful journey of sacrifice and love.
We are Andrew and Kyra. We met in high school and have been married for 13 years (18 years together). We still live in our hometown in North Carolina, just right outside of Charlotte, in a beautiful brick home with lots of land to enjoy! We have two biological children, Kylie (9 years old) and Joey (4 years old). We love to hike our local battleground, attend local festivals, take trips together, visit the local park and many other activities open to us in our area. At home we like to play games, play outside with our dogs, build forts and watch movies.
We are both very close with our families and see Kyra’s parents and some of Andrew’s family at least two times a week. As some family members and their families live in other states, we do get the opportunity to travel to be with them.
We attend church every week and are very involved with various activities there. We have a close nit group in our Sunday school class and have regular fellowship times with them and their children. Our church family is very diverse in culture and race and there are multiple families that have adopted. Our church also supports local adoption and foster care organizations in our area.
Andrew is a fiber-optic technician with a local company called TNT Optical Communications and Kyra is the Agency Manager’s Associate Agent with North Carolina Farm Bureau Ins.
Kyra was adopted when she was an infant and has always had a passion for adoption. Adoption has always been such a positive and wonderful part of Kyra’s story. We discussed it early in our relationship and agreed we would adopt, if/when the time was right. After two, scary, very premature births and much prayer, we decided that we wanted to adopt. Kyra is very excited to have the adoption connection with this future child. Both children are eager for a new sibling to join our family!
We are happy to send updates and pictures of your child and how they are doing in the years to come. We are open to talking about future visits as your child grows.
We would love to meet you and answer any other questions you may have. We will be praying for you in this journey!
