Domestic Adoption

Dear Expectant Mother,

“When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child.”—Sophia Loren.  We thank you truly and deeply for both nurturing a life and considering the best path forward.  Our family is dedicated to providing a lifelong environment of love and support.  We hope that should you choose adoption, we can offer you peace.

We're originally from NY; Alysha's a city guy and I'm from upstate.  We've been together since the day we met in 2006 and married for 12 years.  After a long road of infertility, we were blessed with our 5 year old son Eben.  He adores our families and they’re active in his life.  My parents are retiring this month to come live nearby and we couldn't be more excited!

In 2017 we moved to SC and we love it here.  We live in a large 4 bedroom home in a subdivision.  On holidays we celebrate with costumes, golf cart parades, or fireworks.  We like to take weekend trips to Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Charlotte, and Atlanta for different cultural celebrations and events.  It's important that we expose our family to Asian, Hispanic, and Native American diversity as well as appreciating each of our own ethnic backgrounds.

Alysha's parents are both adopted and upon realizing we wouldn't be able to conceive again; adoption was a natural choice for us.  I’m a stay at home mother and will continue to provide full time care to our next child.  My husband is a Sr. Human Resource Business Partner with a flexible schedule and the ability to work from home.

Our family is FUN.  We sing bad En Vogue duets in the kitchen, have water fights in the yard, and address the zoo animals by name.  We also draw Eben cartoons for his lunch, keep clean socks in the car for the homeless, and have one romantic date a month.  Both sets of our parents have been married for over 40 years and we trust their advice to love each other well and to laugh loudly and often.

We wish you the best.  We hope you have clarity, conviction, and tranquility as you proceed with this difficult decision.  “There is always a storm. There is always rain. Some experience it. Some live through it. And others are made from it” Shannon L. Alder

Sincerely, Melanie and Alysha
