Dear Expecting Mom,
We are praying for you as you consider adoption for your baby. We want you to know we respect you and the difficult decisions you are making. We hope that you will seek God's wisdom and will be comforted with His supernatural peace.
We (Alex and Lauren) met through mutual friends almost 9 years ago and have been married 6 years. We live in Austin, TX where Alex works in the construction industry and Lauren is an attorney at the capitol. We have a dog Sadie (who is great with kids). Alex is the steady rock of our family. He is kind and hardworking and handy with house projects. He is a patient teacher. Alex enjoys golfing and camping and is a great cook! Lauren is loyal and social and has a million best friends. She is smart and responsible, but loves a good time! She tells corny jokes and listens to a wide variety of music. We both love traveling, exercise, being active and outdoors, and we spend a lot of our free time loving on our friends and family. We are the "fun" aunt and uncle to our nieces, nephews, and friends' kids.
We have always known that we wanted to grow our family through adoption as our first choice (rather than having biological children). We do not have any children yet, and we want and hope for an adopted baby. Having grown up in a blended family, Lauren understands families can be made in a variety of ways, not just through birth. She knows from experience you can love and be loved by both biological and adoptive parents! We both believe adoption is a beautiful picture on earth representing God's adoption of us as His sons and daughters, and we love the story of Joseph in the Bible being an adoptive dad to Jesus. We are committed to raising our child to know and love Jesus, too.
We have wonderful family and friends who are excited to support us when we adopt. We have a multi-racial, diverse and blended family, and we know any baby will be accepted and fit right in! Many of our family lives nearby, and we are lucky to see our distant family often too. We also have a community of friends who are like family, a church that supports us, and we know our future child will always be surrounded by love and care!
Extending our love to you and prayers for your wisdom,
Alex and Lauren
