Dear Expectant Parent, We know you have a very difficult decision ahead, and greatly admire your bravery and love you have for your child. We are incredibly grateful that you would consider choosing our family to be part of your adoption plan. Although we haven’t met, we are praying for you even now, for wisdom and peace with your decision, as well as health for both you and the wonderful life you have growing inside you. Our names are Alex and LauraCatherine. Alex graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and now works as a manufacturing engineer for a company that makes airplane parts. LauraCatherine graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Graphic Communications but her love of children led her to a career of full time nannying, moving to part time when the twins she cared for began Kindergarten, and in preparation for being a stay at home mom. Although we both attended Clemson, we did not meet until shortly after college through a Bible study for recent graduates. We were friends for a few years before we began dating, and were married a year and a half after that. Before we got married, LauraCatherine spoke to Alex about her desire to one day adopt, so after being married for a year we began to prayerfully consider growing our family through adoption. With much excitement and support from both family and friends we began our adoption journey, and after 14 long months of waiting, God blessed us with Evelyn Joy. She is such a gift and truly brings so much joy to our lives. We have always wanted more children, and so we are once again entering the journey of adoption. This is where you come in, dear birth mother. We remain in regular contact with Evelyn’s birth mother, and would love to stay in touch with you if you are willing and feel comfortable doing so. We know that you will always be a part of our child’s life, whether directly or otherwise. We also understand that every person has a different story, so we hold no expectations, but only a willingness to discuss what you would like and believe is in your baby’s best interest.
