Dear Expectant Parent,
If you are reading this letter, you are most likely contemplating one of the most difficult decisions you will ever make. When we consider the level of sacrifice that the selfless act of creating an adoption plan for a child requires, we are filled with a great deal of respect for the care you take as you decide what is best for you and your little one. It is a wonderful gift to give to your child and to the family you choose for your baby. We can only imagine the feelings and emotions you are facing right now. The boy or girl who is growing inside of you is worthy of love, care, and respect, because of the intrinsic value that God gave to your child even before He began to form the precious little one in your womb. We are praying for you, and every expectant parent who is faced with the choices you have before you.
We are Aaron and Myrian. Aaron grew up in Colorado and Myrian was born and raised in Angola, a country on the South-West coast of Africa. We met at church and have been married for ten years. During that time, we have enjoyed traveling to Angola, so Aaron could meet Myrian’s huge family. We have also visited her friends and family in Portugal and France. Aaron plays on the worship team at church and Myrian works in the nursery. We enjoy road trips, hiking with our dogs, riding our mountain bikes, playing games, and spending time with each other.
Our life together hasn’t always been easy however. Four months after we were married Myrian underwent surgery to remove fibroids. The doctors told us that it would be difficult to have children. We met with fertility specialists and after Myrian suffered through several painful procedures we learned that in vitro was not an option. Ultimately, in 2018, she had to have a full hysterectomy because of the fibroids and endometriosis.
“If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny himself.” (2nd Timothy 2:13.) God has been faithful to us. We can see His work in bringing us together from opposite sides of the world. He made us into a couple that is united in Him and inseparable. We believe that God is directing us toward adoption so that we can learn to love in the same way that he has loved us. He has adopted us as His children, through the work of His Son, Jesus.
We are blessed to have the unconditional support of our families. We want you to know that this same support system is here to surround your child with love. Should God bring us together through adoption, we will be happy to have an open relationship with you at any level that makes you comfortable, and is appropriate. We will honor your sacrifice by making certain that your child knows how much he or she is loved by you.
With Respect,
Aaron and Myrian.
