Have you ever had God whisper something to you and you try to tell yourself that it wasn’t really God?  And yet, the whisper remains there, gently guiding you to the path that is aligned with His will?  I can say that I am experiencing this in 2015 and what a ride He is taking our family on! Michael and I have 2 biological children, 10 and 8.  And 2015 was set out to be a peaceful year with our boys—until Michael came to me and said that he felt the Lord tell him that I needed to pursue adoption—something I have wanted to do for years, but never followed through because we were not in one accord on this subject.  After he told me I had his full support, I felt the Lord’s whisper become a gentle PUSH!  And fear overwhelmed me the first few months of the year.  “Could I really do this?”  “I am getting to be too old!”  “Our life is comfortable!”  And then I heard the Lord ask me…”Will you, Kaycee, be obedient to what I am asking you to do?” It is amazing how God works.  The next day, my son was doing his handwriting and brought it to me and said, “Look what God said to me today.”  This was it: Mark 9:37  “Anyone who welcomes a little child like this in My name is welcoming Me, and anyone who welcomes Me is welcoming My Father who sent me!”   OK!  I hear you God! In February, we started the process to bring a sweet child into our home, and in the last few months, I have had to trust God with everything!  And yet, He has been so faithful.  When I was freaking out last week after the agency said we were approved and ready, my son brought another handwriting verse to me and told me that God said I needed this: Luke 9:48 “Anyone who takes care of a little child like this is caring for Me! And whoever cares for Me is caring for God who sent me. Your care for others is the measure of your greatness.” OK! I hear you God (again)! While we are diligently saving all we can to help cover the costs of the adoption, and I have already seen God’s faithfulness in the process, I am here to ask for your partnership and support as we pursue God’s will. In James 1:27, the Bible says that we are to take care of the orphans and the widows. And I know that while not everyone is called to adopt, many of you are more than willing to help us as we fulfill this calling God has placed on us. I am humbled and honored that you would consider contributing toward our adoption. I am also excited that I will be able to share with our child as he or she grows up the pictures and memories of all of those who come alongside us to make this dream a reality. God Bless! Michael and Kaycee
