Parker and I adopted our son through DSS back in September of this year. His journey with us has been long and difficult at times, but it reinforced the calling placed on our lives. We have found that the Lord is continuously willing to equip us for difficult callings and a future that centers around caring for the orphan and those in need of a family and love.
We see it over and over again in Scripture that God's heart is for the orphan. Our own hearts are deeply affected by the plight of children whose first adoptive family was unable to care for them or who have significant needs and deeply rooted trauma.
As we head into the holiday season this year, we are preparing for another adoption through Nightlight's ReNEWed Hope program and are seeking help to cover the cost of such a service.
